Another Davina Error!

This time an article written by regular a regular in the TV Biz column Colin Robertson.
Sara Nathan calls herself the editor of the column so she really should make sure what she puts in her column is fact. And also spot any errors!!

...The column features an interview with Davina McCall. A copy of which can be found here.

"She said of the ITV1 daytime show [This Morning]: “It is great, but as a presenter you are produced. I want some control in what I do next.” She is set to host her NINTH Big Brother series this year. "

Actually Big Brother began in 2000.
-2000
-2001
-2002
-2003
-2004
-2005
-2006
-2007
-2008
-2009 This would actually be the 10th series of Big Brother. And the 10th series Davina has hosted! ...Come on now!

BIG BOTHER AS NATHAN MISQUOTES

"Davina McCall has admitted what everyone else has been hoping for: Big Brother is being axed..." reports Sara Nathan on the 7th May 2009. A copy of the article can be read here
"It's definately only got two years left," Davina goes on.

So imagine my surprise when I read another article in the Daily Star on 15th May, just 8 days later, in which when asked about the article, Davina McCall tells them "I was misquoted," adding that what she actually said was "It's contracted for two years, if the ratings do well then we'll sign a new contract."

So Davina McCall tells Sara Nathan that Big Brother has 2 years left of it's contract, and she expects it will be renewed and Nathan turns that in to, "It's only got 2 years left..." perhaps she meant to add "of it's curent contract" to the end of that quote? Or maybe she just enjoys feeding readers a pack of lies...

Danny Dyer is Filth!

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/article2343625.ece

Let me point out a story published in The Sun on 27th March 2009...

DANNY Dyer will star in the pilot of a new sitcom set in the office of a Nuts-style lads’ magazine. Former EastEnders actress Tracy-Ann Oberman will play his boss in the Channel 4 show.

Now let me take you back to an article which appeared on BroadcastNow, 2 days earlier, on 25th March 2009...

Danny Dyer is to star in a Channel 4 sitcom pilot set in the office of a Nuts-style lads' mag.

Filth, from Scottish indie Angel Eye, also stars former EastEnders actress Tracy-Ann Oberman as
Dyer's ball-breaker boss.

It is one of seven pilots for C4's mid-budget Comedy Lab strand this summer, including Avalon's Penelope Princess of Pets. The show is a vehicle for Flight of the Conchords star Kristen Schaal and her comedy partner Kurt Braunholer.

Sara Nathan!

This is the "Journalist" responsible for the mistakes...

Ladies and Gentleman Sara Nathan . . .

Danielle's Dead and Gone!

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/soaps/article2324962.ece

18th March 2009-

"EASTENDERS actress Lauren Crace has pleaded with her soap bosses to make her character Danielle Jones less BORING.

The newcomer, 22, revealed she pleaded for drama to be injected into her role."

Unfortunately actress Lauren Crace's character died on-screen on 2nd April 2009,

And Lauren filmed her final scenes at the end of January 2009, why would she plead with bosses to make her character less boring? She's already left the show along time before this article was published. Simple mistake or out and out lie?

My guess? Lauren spoke to a magazine about her character before this, Sara Nathan's TV Biz picked up on the story a few weeks later and decided to go with it because they couldn't think of anything else to fill their column with. . .ah

Holmes and Mariah Carey. . .

Right heres the first mistake i'm going to bring to your attention.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/article2403676.ece

Here is the whole article:

EAMONN Holmes refused when Mariah Carey said she wanted to lie down for a This Morning TV chat.

He said: “I said no. We didn’t do the interview.” Published 30/4/09

Right now let me take you back to an article that appeared in TV BIZ on 30th August 2007

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/article266813.ece

Eamonn says
Mariah Carey sent one of her flunkies to say that she was tired and was going to lie down.

"I was like, 'She's f***ing tired? She should've been up from four o'clock this morning! If she's going to lie down, then I'll lie down with her!'"

So TV Biz can't think of anything to write, so they basically re-publish a story which they originally told 2 years ago! But that's not all folks, it was infact a GMTV interview and not a This Morning one! And Eamonn originally told the story in an edition of the Daily Express' magazine Saturday a few years before he spoke to Maxim about it. Oh dear . . .
